Welcome to all fellow class members. The Class of 1970 of Plainfield High School, symbolizes the culmination of our development and matriculation into adulthood, however it is also a signifcant point of history. Many of our families came into the city in transition from points around the country, my family part of the migration from the south to the north. We learned how to work, socialize and adjust through the cultural and social issues that confronted the city, state and the world. We saw the Vietnam War, Kent State, and the riots of 1969 in Plainfield. It has caused many changes, fears and other issues. We celebrate our coming back together to not only celebrate our matriculation, but to acknowledge what this meant to every individual. We should not allow the feelings that are severe from those times to keep us from the years of fun and joy that we celebrated together. As a therapist I have seen first place the issues that exist from high school and development, and also remember the fun in hanging out across from the library at the school, and going to the Delicatessen, and the Hot Dog stands, which my college age son makes sure I bring him to every year. I say come on down and lets relive what was special and joyous for all of us. My mom used to tell me that we are the product of god, and the ingredients he poured into us, lets see what mix he generated.
